What is the University of Clear Lake?
The University of Clear Lake is a fictitious university. It doesn’t physically exist. It doesn’t have brick and mortar buildings, a curriculum, instructors, or students.
Rather, it’s an idea. A vision of creating the sense of community, unity, and fellowship found on the campus of an actual university. It represents the cities, towns, and geographical region surrounding the beautiful natural resource of Clear Lake located in North-Central Iowa.
The logo for the University of Clear Lake has the shape of the lake and contains icons of historical items and activities associated and identified with the lake of Clear Lake. The Est. 1871 date represents the University was “established” in the same year the city of Clear Lake was incorporated.
The vision and creation of the University of Clear Lake began in 2009. However, its implementation needed to be put on hold due to a trademark similarity issue.
Through patience and perseverance, the University of Clear received its Registered Trademark in December 2019.
The mission of the University of Clear Lake is to celebrate, protect, and promote the beautiful natural resource Clear Lake and its surrounding communities.
